So, November fifth is Bonfire night where I'm from, where we celebrate the failure of Guy Fawkes's attempt to blow up the King and Parliament by, well, letting off fireworks and having a massive bonfire and occasionally burning effigies. There's also some really great food because what celebration isn't complete without really nice food?

So yeah, November fifth, once it gets dark so maybe, seven? Outside the battledome and we'll walk out to where we're having the bonfire and fireworks. Dress warmly! Any food or drink is very very welcome.

It makes me a little sad that ghost stories have been ruined for me.

Maybe you can tell some then. For instance, got any ghost stories about the Malnosso? Like where they usually hang out? I'm in the mood to crash a haunted house.

Well, there was the time I nearly got killed by reenactors possessed by the ghosts of actual Vikings. That is much more fun in hindsight.

Not sure about haunted houses though, I'm afraid.

That's a shame. The Viking story sounds interesting though.

It was certainly exciting, I have to say. Kind of cemented my reputation as an exorcist in the city at least.

Ghosts in my experience tend to not care too much about guns. And what I do has nothing to do with prayer. I mean, it might help some people but I'm an atheist so...

Wouldn't meeting a ghost sort of... confirm an afterlife? How does that work being an atheist and all?

No, a ghost means that something intense enough happened to trap a spirit or a reflection onto the world.

What's an afterlife got to do with my atheism?

Just interesting. I figured afterlives usually come with those all-powerful deities and such.

Not that I believe in an afterlife myself.

Color me skeptical. I'm still getting used to the whole "alternate dimensions" thing. Only "gods" I've ever met are long-dead aliens and sentient machines that want to melt the human race down into parts for more sentient machines.

I come from a world where magic is very real and my country has an alliance with faerie. I've been told it's a bit on the odd side so...

This just keeps getting better.
