[Third Thread] [Video/Action] Backdated to just after return from Malnosso Land
Remember Remember
The Fifth of November,
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder treason,
Should ever be forgot.
Even in Luceti.
[Have a grin after that somewhat ominous recital.]
So, November fifth is Bonfire night where I'm from, where we celebrate the failure of Guy Fawkes's attempt to blow up the King and Parliament by, well, letting off fireworks and having a massive bonfire and occasionally burning effigies. There's also some really great food because what celebration isn't complete without really nice food?
So yeah, November fifth, once it gets dark so maybe, seven? Outside the battledome and we'll walk out to where we're having the bonfire and fireworks. Dress warmly! Any food or drink is very very welcome.
Hope to see you there!
[Action]
[Max spends the rest of the next couple of days rushing around, trying to find the requisite foods for Bonfire Night. Feel free to approach him!]
[OOC: log for the actual bonfire night celebration will be put up tomorrow.]

So, does it still exist in your utopian world?
Re: [ video ]
I know the name - probably learned it in school, but I'm from Iowa, so it was never a big event there or anything.
And if you think I live in a Utopia, then you have some serious rose-colored glasses on. Like prescription strength.
[ video ]
Hey, you probably don't have to worry about every political spat potentially ending in nukes.
Re: [ video ]
Well, not Nukes anymore, but inter-planetary war? Sure. I don't think anyone's very sure what the Klingons are packing.

Re: [ video ]
You don't want to know and you don't want to meet them.
Don't get me wrong, that still happens. I think that's how things will always be. A totally harmonious planet is a pipe dream.
[ video ]
I'm not sure whether that's reassuring or depressing.
Re: [ video ]
Well, at the risk of sounding like a horrible, terrible sort of person - a totally harmonious planet just sounds kind of.... boring. Not that I like war, but everyone agreeing all the time? I'd rather sleep.
Re: [ video ]
Re: [ video ]
Yeah, and I guess that's what's going to keep us all from being a utopia. The closest thing to it might be the Vulcan planet, but they have their own issues.

Re: [ video ]
Heh, yeah, something like that. I'm not much of a grass man though - I prefer stars to grass. But same thing, right?
Re: [ video ]
Yeah, same thing.
Re: [ video ]
[ He snorted, getting his meaning, but yes, leaving it there. ]
Earth will always have the greenest grass, though, and the best view of the milky way.
