Hello Luceti! So, it's maybe a little late but back at home, we have a little event called Pancake Day. Shrove Tuesday for the Christian amongst you.

It is exactly as it sounds. A day to make and eat pancakes. If that isn't a reason to celebrate, I don't know what is.

So...

With the permission of my wonderful housemates at House 51, we'll be having a little party this afternoon. Making pancakes, eating pancakes, probably turning the kitchen into a war zone. Feel free to come along if you'd like! Bring anything that tastes good on pancakes, although we'll have the usual stuff on hand.

If you aren't already in possession, then we'll bring it from here. My friend prefers spicy foods on a scale that would make most people's bowels implode. It's quite interesting to watch him eat.

Fan of Indian food then? I can understand that although maybe not on quite such a scale.

Oh yes, but it's been quite a challenge finding a range in which he can taste. You'd be surprised at how few ghost chili peppers are available here. Not to mention the complete lack of Capsicum chinense!

You could try trading points to the Malnosso. They've given out bigger things than chili plants before.

[aaaand happy go lucky tone is replaced by "I want to stab things with a knife" tone.]

I'd rather stick my face in acid than work with those charlatans. Why do the people here insist on being placated by favors in exchange for their acceptance of being unwilling test subjects?

Because we're stuck here and we might as well get something out of it? Because I know people who've got seriously great things out of it.

Because for a few people I know, this place is about a million times better than the worlds they came from.

So they should go back and fix it somehow! Coming here only leaves their world to languish without them. Each person - each person - has an important role to play. Their absence from it can be catastrophic, even if they don't like or feel up to the task handed to them.

What do you eat with pancakes?

Pancakes are pretty versatile. Sweet and savoury. Fruit, syrup, bacon, chocolate, ice-cream... just try to see what you like.
